I don't like the saying 'behind every successful man there is a woman', nor completely agree with the saying 'beside every successful man there is a woman', From experience, I believe that
Every successful man is nurtured by women with vision
It may sound cheesy, but it's my truth. I want to honor three amazing women in my life, who made me, broke me and remade me again.
In every season of my life, these extraordinary ladies have played their part in making me the man I am today! And all three of them continue to do so in varying degrees. On this special day, I want to acknowledge them and share few key things I have learnt from them, that has become part of my world view.
Lady One
She is the reason I respect and equally value women in my life. She seldom spoke to me about equality or feminism or women empowerment. Rather showed it to me with her life. She is the reason I am a great son, brother, father and most importantly a husband.
Lady Two
She is tough on the outside but not so much on the inside. She would give up her life for me (maybe not anymore because of her children, & I respect that). She taught me a valuable lesson that helped me find the third woman of my life; i.e to allow people into my life, genuinely care for them, not to be afraid of being hurt in a relationship and be vulnerable. Later in life as I designed to the principles of Celebrating Life, I realised that true happiness comes with vulnerability.
Lady Three
She is passionate and driven, she pushed me (sometimes not so nicely) to think deeper on one of the fundamental principles of Celebrating Life, i.e the wholeness of life. Though I took some extra time to overcome my limiting beliefs, we have now become each others cheerleaders to intentionally strive towards success and celebrate life.
Happy Women's Day to all the women that has nurtured me, particularly my mother, my sister and my lovely wife.
